Product Development Associate

Client Overview: Leading manufacturer or women's and kids swimwear and coverups.

Position Overview: We have an opening for a product developer for women's coverups. We are looking for someone experienced in women's apparel product development, with experience working with lightweight wovens, knits, and some fully fashioned or crochet fabrics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with internal and client design teams on fabric development; source fabrics with mills and develop new fabrics.
  • Implement development samples with overseas vendors from design CADs for client meetings, based on designer's vision and client's costing needs.
  • Follow up on development fabric testing with suppliers; troubleshoot and resolve issues with testing.
  • Handle costing including fabric, garment, and pricing to clients.
  • Manage order allocation.
  • Attend fittings to evaluate aesthetic interpretation of samples for design meetings and pre-production approvals.
  • Create Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Traceability management using BCI Cotton on the Inspectorio platform.
  • Manage Time & Action Calendars including internal design calendars and factory T&A for order placement and delivery dates.
  • Manage Natific Certification process.
  • Evaluate lab dips, trims, and prints for color approval both visually and digitally; interact with design teams and clients for color approvals as necessary; troubleshoot and resolve color-related issues with mills.
  • Maintain daily email correspondence with overseas suppliers and clients as needed.
  • Collaborate with Production & Logistics Teams to ensure product is produced as expected and delivered on schedule.
