Job Description:
Summary:
Responsible for outreach efforts to establish and maintain positive working relationships with key customers (physicians, office staff, diagnostic staff, nurses, radiology staff, social services staff, oncology staff, etc,), as well as other Ballad Health Hospitals. Establishes working relationships with attorneys representing patients pursuing black lung claims. Assist office clerical staff when needed. Must be self-directed, and serve as team lead. Preferred experience in a role associated with management of a Black Lung program and/or 1-2 years' marketing experience. Must be able to assimilate & communicate data via spreadsheets, word processing, and email communication. Responsive to reading/responding to emails in a timely fashion and answering the phone in a professional manner is required. Requires excellent leadership, organizational, written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Adheres to established productivity benchmarks. Manages the patients throughout the care continuum, including inpatient admissions, and collaborates with inpatient care management resources. Delivers quarterly report out to Ballad Health committees (Pulmonary Business Meeting, etc.) and other groups demonstrating outcomes and performance improvement activities. Contacts patients which have previously had black lung testing at Norton Community Hospital regarding filing claims to retest with the Department of Labor. This position is the contact person for patients needing instruction and/or assistance with initially filing a claim with the Department of Labor. Organizes and conducts local events to promote Black Lung Services and orchestrates outreach clinics. Must be knowledgeable regarding the community to be served. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements:
Required - Bachelor's degree in healthcare-related field and High School Diploma or GED
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid and active driver's license.
