JOB SUMMARY-Transportation Specialist
• Responsible for safely transporting residents to and from arranged locations

QUALIFICATIONS
• Have a high school education or equivalent.
• Possess an unencumbered driver's license.
• Possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Must have excellent communication skills.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Has knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures and strategies to
promote and ensure safe transport at all times.
• Must possess current CPR certification or become certified within ninety (90)
days of employment.
• Must be able to read, write and speak the English language in an understandable
manner.
• Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day.
• Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
• Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these
senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position
can be fully met.
• Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability
to work effectively with residents, family members, personnel, and support
agencies.
• Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
• Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, young, emotionally
upset and at times, hostile people.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, resident in excess
of fifty (50) pounds throughout the day.
• Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including
exposure to the (HIV) AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Follow safety rules as residents board and exit the bus or near cross streets near
bus stops.
• Complies with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe manner,
• Checks the condition of the vehicle at least monthly and reports any
malfunctions or necessary repairs as needed.
• Maintains order among passengers while in transit.
• Picks up and/or drops off residents at scheduled locations while following strict
time schedules.
• Maintains cleanliness of the interior of the vehicle at all times.
• Attends community outings as assigned by the Administrator and/or designee.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY-Maintenance Assistant

  • Under the supervision of the Building Manager performs tasks and duties in the day-to- day activities of the Maintenance Department in accordance with current facility policies and procedures and federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school education or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, personnel, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
  • Must possess ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
  • Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • May be required to lift, push, pull and move equipment, supplies, etc., in excess of fifty (50) pounds throughout the workday.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must understand that this is a health care facility and as such there is a risk of exposure to infectious diseases including blood borne diseases, such as HIV and Hepatitis.
  • Must be willing to follow correct infection control guidelines including the usage of Personal Protective Equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Follow established departmental policies and procedures, including appropriate
  • dress code.
  • Perform tasks as assigned by the Building Manager including, but not exclusively:
  • Monitoring temperatures
  • Monitoring equipment
  • Monitoring/assisting outside contractors
  • Performing simple mechanical, electrical, record keeping and plumbing maintenance tasks
  • Assisting the Building Manager on more complex tasks when requested
  • Assisting in the relocation of equipment/furniture within the building
  • Responding to off hour emergencies
  • Immediately rectify or report to the Building Manager or Manager on Duty any observed safety threat.
  • Follow the Alden Infection Control, Maintenance, Fire Safety, and OSHA Safety Policies as written.
  • Maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis as well as a calm environment throughout the Facility.
  • Participate in Departmental and Facility In-service Education Programs and staff meetings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
