Senior Backend Software Engineer II

As a member of the Conversion team, you will play a pivotal role in furthering our goal of becoming the leading digital marketing platform driven by influencers. You will be responsible for developing scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems using Golang and related technologies to enhance daily active users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to grasp business requirements and convert them into technical specifications.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, following best practices and coding standards.
• Create automated tests to uphold high code quality and minimize regression risks.
• Tackle challenging problems with practical and feasible solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
• Continuously enhance the performance, scalability, and reliability of our systems.
• Drive tasks to completion and own your projects.
• Thrive in a fast-paced and agile development environment.
• Identify and implement improvements to our software and development processes.
• Work collaboratively with distributed teams across various time zones.

What You Bring:

• Over 8 years of software development experience.
• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but relevant work experience also considered.
• Experience with non-relational data stores like DynamoDB or Cassandra.
• A track record of designing and building scalable distributed systems in cloud environments.
• Proficiency in Golang (preferred), Python, Java, or equivalent languages.
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL.
• Familiarity with AWS services like ECS, Lambda, and RDS.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or CircleCI.
• Understanding of infrastructure as code, such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Thorough knowledge of distributed systems, databases, and web protocols (REST, HTTP, etc.).
• Proven experience in building scalable APIs (REST, JSON, HTTP).
• Comfortable with deploying code multiple times daily.
• Ability to conceptualize and model complex systems effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with observability tools like DataDog.
• Understanding of feature flags and A/B testing.
