This position will work alongside FDOT personnel and support a range of mission-critical services related to roadway operations, public safety communications, and transportation data systems.
1. Firewall & Web Filter Administration
Configure and update policies on Fortinet firewalls
Conduct FortiGate web filter audits, permission updates, and status monitoring

2. Server & Storage Management
dminister VMware environments, Veeam backups, and Dell Compellent/Powerstore storage
pply quarterly patches and perform system provisioning and recovery

3. Security Administration
Manage RADIUS and Active Directory accounts
Process security access requests via Atlassian Jira
Ensure compliance with FDOT and law enforcement (SLERS, CJIS) standards

4. Special Applications Support
Provide first-level support and vendor coordination for:
ctivu, SunGuide, Road Ranger App, iVDS, BlueMAC, MIMS, ITS Facility Management
SCCM/SCOM, SolarWinds, and other proprietary or third-party tools
Troubleshoot application performance and connectivity issues

5. Network Administration (Backup Support)
Perform basic configuration and troubleshooting of Extreme/Brocade switches
Provide coverage on Fridays and during absence of primary network admin

6. Workstation & End-User Support
Set up desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
Maintain IT inventory and hardware lifecycle
Develop and update user-facing self-help documentation/wiki 9 Skill set info Minimum 1 year of recent, hands-on IT experience

Eligible to pass SLERS, CJIS, and FDOT security background checks
Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Strongly Preferred Skills
Experience with Fortinet, VMware, Veeam, Dell storage
Familiarity with SCCM, SCOM, SolarWinds
Experience supporting government or transportation sector IT environments
Familiarity with Atlassian Jira and Active Directory administration 10 Education 11 Certifications (if required) ssociate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
OR
Equivalent hands-on experience (1+ years) in lieu of formal education
