The Global Medical Affairs Leader is responsible for owning and executing medical affairs strategy across the company's Oncology portfolio, including pre-launch, launch, and lifecycle management. This role is critical in shaping the global medical strategy, driving external scientific leadership, and leading evidence generation to support registration, market access, and adoption. This position will report to the Vice President, Head of Medical Affairs Oncology and serve as the global medical lead with final accountability for the integrated medical plan and external scientific engagement for assigned oncology programs. The successful candidate will partner closely with global regulatory, clinical, commercial, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution across the program lifecycle

responsibilities:

  • Own and lead the global medical strategy for the Oncology portfolio, including end-to-end oversight from early development through commercialization and lifecycle planning.
  • Provide medical leadership in governance bodies and global decision-making forums, ensuring medical alignment across development, regulatory, and commercial functions.
  • Lead the cross-functional Development Integrated Evidence Team to build and deliver a comprehensive data package to support global regulatory authorities, payers, and healthcare stakeholders.
  • Direct the global medical matrix team, including Scientific Communications, Field Medical, and Patient Advocacy, with ownership of cross-functional deliverables and execution timelines.
  • Lead global launch readiness and execution for assigned oncology assets, including evidence generation, field medical training, scientific messaging, and external stakeholder engagement.
  • Engage with global, regional, and national external experts to shape the scientific narrative, support clinical best practices, and influence policy and reimbursement discussions.
  • Represent the company as the medical lead in global regulatory and payer engagements, providing strategic input and medical leadership in formal interactions.
  • Drive the development and execution of publication strategy, real-world evidence initiatives, and global medical education programs to support external knowledge transfer.
  • Steward the medical affairs budget and resource allocation for assigned oncology programs, ensuring alignment with franchise and enterprise priorities.
  • Contribute to broader oncology franchise strategy in partnership with the VP and cross-functional leads, acting as a key voice in shaping medical direction and investment.
qualifications:
  • MD or non-US equivalent, PharmD, or PhD with extensive oncology medical affairs leadership experience
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in Medical Affairs, with a strong track record in global roles.
  • Demonstrated leadership of global launch planning and execution in oncology or immuno-oncology settings.
  • Deep expertise in oncology therapeutic area required
  • Strong strategic thinking and leadership skills in a global medical affairs role.
  • Experience in regulatory, scientific communication, and external stakeholder engagement.
  • Launch experience global and/or locally.
Preferred

  • melanoma and immunotherapy experience
  • Strong track record of KOL engagement, scientific communication, and external representation
  • Experience navigating strategic external collaborations and cross-company governance
  • Expertise in cross-functional team leadership, including pharmacovigilance, biostatistics, clinical operations, and regulatory affairs
  • Strategic and operational mindset with excellent project leadership capabilities
  • Comfort managing cross-functional deliverables and owning timelines and outputs at a program level.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex science into clear, impactful messaging
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution
