Solar Program Manager

Centrica Business Solutions North America is seeking a Solar Program Manager to lead the design and construction of multiple parallel Solar Carport and Rooftop Sites for the LAUSD school district in Southern California. The Program Manager is a leadership position on the Operations team reporting to the Manager of Project Management - West. The Program Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of construction projects through planning, directing, and facilitating activities by their matrix report project management team. This is a matrix manager position with the autonomy to build the team that will deliver the multi-year 16 site program of projects most effectively and currently anticipates at least a Project Manager and Assistant Project Manager reporting to the Program Manager. The Program Manager will play a pivotal role in positioning Centrica for ongoing opportunities to expand into additional LAUSD schools by ensuring excellence in delivery, customer satisfaction, and long-term value creation.
Our Solar Program Manager contributions to the team include:
- Lead and be accountable for the successful execution (Scope, Schedule, Budget, and Customer Satisfaction), from design through construction, commissioning, and closeout of a 16 solar site program of projects for a major school district in Southern California.
- Serve as the primary executive interface with LAUSD leadership, balancing district-wide objectives with site-specific execution.
- Provide solar design and construction expertise and leadership to effectively manage processes including, interconnection application and approval, Division of the State Architect (DSA) review, permit application and approval, etc.
- Manage a team of Project Managers, allocating resources and projects, to ensure timely and efficient revenue recognition, achievement of CBSNA goals, and good outcomes for customers.
- Fully understand, track, and proactively manage all customer requirements, ensuring smooth, timely delivery and confident execution that fosters customer trust and a positive overall customer experience.
- Lead program-wide risk identification and mitigation planning across all sites.
- Build scalable processes and systems that set the foundation for long-term partnerships with the client.
- At least 15 years of demonstrated success in Project Management leading portfolios or multi-site programs of $10MM+ in aggregate construction value - Required.
- At least 10 years of demonstrated success in solar project management - Required.
- Experience leading solar PV projects through DSA review, interconnection approval, and permitting in Southern California - Strongly Preferred
- Experience working with LA Unified School District - Preferred
- Proven success managing programs for public agencies, K-12 schools, or large institutional clients in California.
- Ability to navigate DSA processes and public works contracting environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or Business
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- A general contracting license-holder in some key states is highly preferred or prerequisite qualifications to be able to sit for the tests
