Sr. Java Developer with Security Clearance

Contact: Judy Bolton, Sr. Technical Recruiter Mindbank Consulting Group is seeking a Sr. Full Stack Java Developer to join a team building and modernizing secure, high-performance web applications in support of our federal client. This position is FULLY ONSITE in either Fort Collins, CO, or Falls Church, VA. Mid-level role: $100K - $115K (10/2025 THIS POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED. I WILL ALWAYS ACCEPT RESUMES FOR FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES) Senior-level role: $118K - $130K The incumbent is expected onsite from the first day of employment; there are no exceptions Candidates must be either US Citizens or US Permanent Residents ( Green Card ) Mindbank does not partner with third-party staffing companies; do not inquire. Our client delivers mission-critical solutions using a microservices architecture with Java 17, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and React.js. Applications are deployed to the cloud using Docker, AWS ECS, and CodePipeline, with strong emphasis on security, compliance, and scalability. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across the full stack designing APIs and data models, implementing responsive UI components, optimizing system performance, and ensuring secure deployments. In this role, you will collaborate with DevOps, QA, and Security Compliance teams to deliver reliable solutions under tight federal deadlines. Minimum Qualifications: US Citizen or US Permanent Resident BS in Computer Science or similar is preferred; a master's degree is a bonus Senior: At least six (6) years or Mid: at least four (4) years of hands-on, professional, and current experience with Java 8, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud in a microservices environment Frontend development expertise with React.js, TypeScript, Redux, HTML5, CSS3, and Bootstrap Experience building and integrating RESTful APIs and GraphQL services Knowledge of Spring Batch for high-volume data processing Proficiency with PostgreSQL (sharding, replication, indexing) and MongoDB for non-relational data Familiarity with Redis for caching and performance optimization Containerization and deployment experience with Docker, AWS ECS, and AWS CodePipeline Experience applying design patterns (Singleton, Factory, DAO) and AOP for modular codebases Strong background in security and compliance, including JWT, OAuth 2.0, Spring Security, and familiarity with FISMA/NIST standards Testing experience, including GraphQL Tester for unit/integration testing and regression prevention Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI or similar) Ability to mentor and guide junior developers, fostering knowledge-sharing and team growth Proven ability to deliver features in a fast-paced, collaborative federal environment Preferred Qualifications Experience with federal projects or environments requiring FISMA/NIST compliance Familiarity with AWS services beyond ECS/CodePipeline (e.g., RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch) Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for monitoring, logging, and automated deployments Background in performance tuning for large-scale, data-intensive applications Experience with federated authentication/SSO in government systems AWS certifications, Java certifications, or related professional credentials Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps Strong communication skills and experience working in cross-functional teams (DevOps, QA, Security, Product Owners) As an Equal Opportunity Employer, Mindbank is committed to a diverse workforce and we seek the most qualified candidate for each opening without regard to race, color, religion, age, gender, gender identity, marital status, sexual orientation, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability status.
