You will be the primary onsite IT presence in San Diego, handling day-to-day technical issues, coordinating with the corporate IT team, and ensuring users have a smooth technology experience. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, has a strong interest in technology, and is eager to learn-even if they have limited prior IT support experience.

The role is onsite Monday-Thursday with a potential work-from-home Friday, and includes structured onboarding and training, including 1-2 weeks in Reston, VA with the Corporate Service Desk team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and support laptop/desktop issues, including break/fix, imaging, software installs, and VPN/connectivity problems
  • Support conference rooms and AV technology for meetings and events
  • Ensure desktops, laptops, and peripherals (monitors, printers, docking stations, etc.) are functioning properly
  • Escalate complex issues to systems administrators, cybersecurity, and other IT teams as needed
  • Deliver friendly, professional, and responsive customer service to end users at all times
  • Follow established IT processes and document work in ServiceNow and other IT systems
Technology Environment:

  • Windows and macOS endpoints (majority Windows)
  • ServiceNow ticketing system
  • Corporate laptops, standard productivity tools, and VPN/remote access solutions
Required Skills/Education:

  • Strong interest in technology and desire to build an IT career
  • Ability to learn quickly and follow technical instructions, even with limited prior help desk experience
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills; comfortable working with users at all levels
  • Professional, friendly, and approachable demeanor; enjoys being the "face of IT" in the office
  • Willing and able to work onsite in San Diego, CA Monday-Thursday, with potential WFH on Fridays
  • Able to work 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM PST
  • Willing and able to travel to Reston, VA for 1-2 weeks of initial training and approximately once per year thereafter
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Clearable for a security clearance (no active clearance required to start)
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a customer-facing technical or support role (e.g., Geek Squad, help desk, AV support, physical security with tech components, retail electronics support)
  • Experience with ServiceNow or other IT ticketing systems
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certifications (preferred but not required)
  • College coursework or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred but not required)
Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • A people-focused team player who enjoys being in the office and helping others solve problems
  • Takes ownership of their workspace, responsibilities, and follow-through
  • Comfortable asking questions, seeking help, and learning on the job
  • Interested in growing within IT into areas such as systems administration, information security, or cybersecurity over time
Career Growth & Development:

  • The Service Desk is a proven stepping stone into roles such as:

    • Systems Administrator
    • Information Security / Cybersecurity Analyst
    • Client-facing Technical Support or Engineering
  • Access to experienced IT mentors and exposure to multiple technical teams
  • Company-supported certification reimbursement available for approved IT certifications
