Position Summary

The Interventional Radiology (IR) Tech performs specialized diagnostic and therapeutic imaging procedures under the supervision of a radiologist. This role is responsible for assisting with vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures, ensuring image quality, maintaining sterile technique, and supporting patient care before, during, and after procedures.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform interventional radiology procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
  • Operate fluoroscopy and imaging equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Prepare and position patients, maintaining sterile fields and radiation safety standards.
  • Monitor patient condition and vital signs during procedures, reporting any changes to the physician.
  • Assist the radiologist with contrast injections, catheter insertions, and guidewire placements.
  • Document procedures accurately and maintain required records in the imaging system.
  • Ensure equipment functionality and report malfunctions or safety issues promptly.
  • Maintain compliance with facility policies, infection control, and radiation safety regulations.
Qualifications (Legally Required)
  • California CRT (Certified Radiologic Technologist) - Required
  • California Fluoroscopy Permit - Required (may be obtained within 6 months of hire if not current)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association - Required
  • Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience - Required
  • Venipuncture Certification - Required if administering contrast
Shift Details
  • Assignment Type: Traveler
  • Schedule: 13-week contract, 8- or 12-hour shifts (Days)
  • Shifts Available: Monday-Friday with potential call rotation
