Who are we? Satellite Industries is the world's largest supplier of products to the portable sanitation industry, which includes portable restrooms, handwash units, consumables, deodorizers, vacuum trucks, vacuum technology, unit haulers, restroom, shower, and specialty trailers.

Position Summary:

The Advanced Production Technician: PVA plays a crucial role in transforming materials into finished products for commercial and industrial use. This position usually operates from Monday to Thursday, 7 AM to 6 PM.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up production by preparing machinery and ensuring line readiness.
  • Input work orders into printers for accurate product marking.
  • Affix product labels on the labeling machine.
  • Initiate and oversee the automated bagging machine operations.
  • Generate pallet tickets and keep clear records of pallet information.
  • Conduct routine quality inspections to ensure products meet our high standards.
  • Monitor inventory and report any discrepancies.
  • Understand work orders and bills of materials, ensuring compliance with requirements.
  • Neatly count and stack boxed products.
  • Efficiently manage pallet movement with the robot.
  • Bag packets using the appropriate machinery.
  • Perform hand-counting of packets accurately.
  • Regularly perform housekeeping duties in line with standard operating procedures.
  • Timely report waste and scrap materials.
  • Verify that all materials conform to specifications outlined in work orders.
  • Label containers according to customer specifications and federal regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
No formal supervisory role.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in chemical production or equivalent training.
  • 3+ years of experience operating manufacturing equipment.

Required Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in operating manufacturing equipment.
  • Intermediate experience in manufacturing is necessary.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions, including chemical labels and safety regulations.
  • Ability to keep composure and effectiveness in fast-paced environments.
  • Technical capacity and ethical conduct.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task while being self-directed and a team player.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Independently make decisions when necessary.

Physical/Mental Demands:
The employee regularly engages in activities requiring talking, reading, counting, and hearing. This position is active and demands standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, pulling, climbing, and lifting throughout the day. Employees must frequently lift and/or move items exceeding 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The employee must utilize necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), which includes respiratory protection, safety gloves, eye protection, and steel or composite toe shoes.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The employee will work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to various agents and reactants, including fumes, chemicals, airborne particles, and moving mechanical parts. Moderate noise levels are typical, but hearing protection may be required.
