As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will join the asset monitoring team, transforming product ideas into reality by crafting components and services for new feature developments. You will design scalable architectures and work collaboratively with a passionate team on key projects that enable fleets to track everything from trailers to individual tools at job sites, delivering valuable real-time insights to streamline operations and boost customer profitability.
What You'll Do:
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to design and document scalable solutions.
- Create secure, maintainable code that powers the platform for real-time visibility into company assets.
- Develop scalable design choices for API interfaces, ensuring compatibility across internal and external applications and services. Implement monitoring, logging, and debugging tools to maintain system health.
- Actively engage with our AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Mentor fellow developers and facilitate learning within the engineering organization.
What We're Looking For:
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- A passion for developing software that is extensible, high-performing, and easy to read.
- Experience in building product infrastructure, distributed systems, and data models.
- Proficiency in Ruby on Rails, Go Lang, Java, or similar programming languages.
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis, and Cassandra.
- Experience working with cloud infrastructures like AWS, GCP, Azure, or private clouds.
