Part-Time Bilingual Social Worker / Mental Health Counselor
Schedule: 21 hours/week (weekday daytime availability required)
Language Requirement: English/Spanish
The Westchester Institute for Human Development (WIHD) is looking for a dedicated and compassionate bilingual clinician to join our team. Our Project IMPACT program is dedicated to supporting parents with intellectual or learning disabilities, especially those whose children are at risk of foster care placement. With over 30 years of partnership with Westchester County DSS, our organization is committed to child welfare.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide in-home support and training to families, helping them navigate parenting challenges.
- Teach essential parenting skills through a structured curriculum covering 21+ valuable skills.
- Focus training on areas such as:
- Home safety
- Problem solving
- Parent advocacy
- Maintain a manageable caseload to ensure intensive service delivery.
- Travel to client homes across Westchester County.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or Mental Health Counseling (MHC); licensure preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in parenting or family training.
- Familiarity with child welfare and disability systems is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is essential.
