Position: McFall Elementary Custodian

Terms of Employment:

Monday - Friday

Hours: 3:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.

School Year position
Benefits per the TK Education Support Personnel Association Agreement

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or an acceptable alternate-based high school equivalency.

2. Ability to keep assigned building(s) clean, safe, functional and secure in accordance with prescribed codes and established District policies and standards.

3. Maintain constructive working relationships with supervisors, fellow workers, visitors, and students and be adaptable to working around children and adults.

4. Skills necessary for maintaining school buildings in a manner acceptable to the general health and safety standards of school buildings.

5. Must be able to perform all of the following:

a. regularly requires the ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and have a high probability of contact with Blood-Borne Pathogens materials during daily work.

b. frequently requires the ability to reach with hands and arms, squat, stoop or kneel, reach above the head and reach forward and bend or twist at the neck and trunk more than the average person; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, such as cleaning supplies, packing and unloading trucks.

c. occasionally requires the ability to sit; lift and/or move 80 pounds, such as salt and furniture; and push/pull items such as tables, bleachers, scrubbing machines, etc.

d. continuously requires the ability to use hand strength to grasp tools and climb onto ladders.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Clean classrooms.
2. Vacuum.
3. Remove trash and replace trash liners as needed.
4. Dust mop tile classroom floors and wet mop as needed.
5. Empty pencil sharpeners.
6. Clean door and exterior windows as needed.
7. Secure doors and windows in assigned areas.
8. Clean drinking fountains except in the gym, cafeteria, and gym hallway.
9. Clean all foyers and entrance windows as needed.
10. Dust and clean fronts and tops of lockers.
11. Clean sinks.

12. Assist with cafeteria clean-up.
13. Note and report maintenance needs.

14. Maintain inventory of custodial supplies.
15. Projects a positive image for the District whenever guests or visitors are in the building.
16. Executes all duties and procedures within health safety standards as per OSHA and/or MIOSHA.
17. Other jobs as assigned by the Supervisor.
