The Opportunity
The Cloud Video team is eager to welcome a Software Engineer to aid in our growing integrations with various NVRs (network video recorders), VMS (video management systems), and video-capable devices. You will play a vital role in creating new integrations, maintaining current ones, and enhancing Flock's proprietary VMS software.
The Skill Set Required
- A passion for coding backed by extensive experience.
- A proactive approach to tackling unknown challenges and devising actionable plans.
- Experience with Video/Streaming technologies including WebRTC, HLS, RTSP, FFmpeg, GStreamer, etc.
- Proficiency in Go, TypeScript (Node) web services, and React or similar JavaScript frameworks.
- Experience in designing and implementing APIs.
- Familiarity with AWS and cloud tools such as Kubernetes (EKS), AWS Lambda, Docker.
- Ability to collaborate across engineering and product teams.

Your First 90 Days at Flock

Your First 30 Days
- Gain insight into team workflows and processes.
- Contribute smaller features and bug fixes with guidance.
- Clone all team repositories locally and understand their purpose.
Your First 60 Days
- Perform effectively in your role with minimal supervision.
- Engage in technical planning and architectural discussions.
- Understand the design philosophies in use.
- Contribute to metric collection and automated test suites.
Days 90 and Beyond
- Achieve a comprehensive understanding of different integration types at a high level.
- Present ideas for enhancing software speed, resource optimization, API simplicity and overall quality.
- Start overseeing smaller projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
