Job Description Summary:
This position will function in a fast paced medical setting, specializing in one or more areas of medical care. Job Description:
- Facilitates an exceptional patient care experience by ensuring and assisting patient flow within the office, attending to needs of patients, their families and medical staff
- Prepares patient for physician visit: obtains and documents appropriate vital signs and health history information in Electronic Health Record (Allscripts)
- Clinical duties may include: Checks vital signs, Give injections (including immunizations), Medication administration, breathing treatments, dressings, vision/hearing testing, suture removal, patient education and assisting physician with procedures, Distributes/educates regarding home spacers and nebulizers
- Documents, records, and reports necessary patient information
- Laboratory testing may include: Specimen collection (including finger sticks/venipuncture), documentation, recordkeeping, and reporting and telephone and walk-in triage
- Assist patients with any paperwork necessary for the visit
- Assists with follow up calls to families regarding visits/procedures
- Checks and maintains Crash Cart chart
- Provides excellent, clear documentation in every area of the office. All documentation is done in the Electronic Health Record, either by entry or by scanning documents
- Works closely with physicians to ensure patient and family needs are met in an expeditious manner
- Performing laboratory tests
- Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct
- Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited RN program (required)
- Minimum of two years' clinical experience (required)
- Experience in a physician's office or hospital setting
- Active Kentucky Registered Nurse License or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required)
