NYC Health + Hospitals/Coler, a proud affiliate of NYU Grossman School of Medicine, is currently seeking a Per Diem Gastroenterologist to provide consultative services to patients in our skilled nursing facility on Roosevelt Island. Our 815-bed facility, located on Roosevelt Island, offers a welcoming environment, advanced technology, and specialized programs including memory care, stroke recovery, and wound management. Coler's mission is to deliver comprehensive, compassionate care to individuals with a wide range of healthcare needs.
Responsibilities:
As a Per Diem Gastroenterologist at NYC Health + Hospitals/Coler, you will:
- Provide in-person gastroenterology consultations for long-term care and post-acute patients.
- Evaluate and manage gastrointestinal conditions such as liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease, GERD, dysphagia, nutritional concerns, and other digestive disorders.
- Collaborate closely with Primary Care Providers, Nursing, Rehabilitation, Psychiatry, and Nutrition Services to deliver coordinated, holistic care.
- Document assessments and treatment plans thoroughly in the electronic health record.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning meetings as appropriate.
- Board Certification or Eligibility in Gastroenterology
- Active New York State medical license
- Prior experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or geriatric gastroenterology preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills
- Dedication to providing compassionate, patient-centered care
- Per diem position with flexible scheduling
- $225-$250 Per Hour
