Position Overview: Join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) specializing in Acute MedSurgical care. In this role, you will provide essential nursing support and collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver general nursing care and administer treatments according to established standards.
- Assist providers during patient examinations and treatments, ensuring necessary equipment is ready.
- Monitor patient conditions, documenting vital signs and reactions to treatments or medications.
- Coordinate appointment bookings, prioritizing patients in emergency situations.
- Prepare patients for physical exams and instruct them regarding sample collection.
- Perform various nursing tasks, including specimen collection, medication administration, and patient teaching.
Additional Responsibilities May Include:
- Blood collection, IV starts, and medication administration under supervision and after required training.
- Responding to phone inquiries and managing prescription refills as instructed by providers.
- Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.
- Participating in professional development and committee activities to foster your career growth.
Qualifications:
- Current Louisiana LPN License.
- BLS and ACLS provider certifications required.
- Experience in acute care settings is preferred.
