Geotechnical Engineer II

We currently seek a high-caliber Geotechnical Engineer II for a direct hire basis within our Client's team of experienced professionals.

Job Duties:

  • Perform geotechnical analysis and studies to assess mitigation options for geohazards (e.g., seismic analysis, karst evaluation).

  • Plan and conduct geotechnical explorations.

  • Design foundations, retaining walls, horizontal directional drills, and slope stability using appropriate calculations.

  • Assist in proposal development and cost/schedule estimation for investigations.

  • Provide direction to technical teams during field inspections.

  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to ensure timely project completion.

  • Support Program Manager in design and evaluation of construction documents.

  • Develop design drawings and specifications for construction projects.

  • Review and approve geotechnical designs from external consultants.

  • Evaluate construction design proposals for geotechnical compliance.

  • Assess team performance and identify training needs to meet objectives.

Education & Experience:

  • BS in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field.

  • 3-7 years of relevant experience required.

  • FE certification required; PE license highly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of industry codes and standards.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Effective time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Experience with engineering, procurement, and construction projects is desirable.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Proficiency with relevant software applications.

  • Ability to collaborate across teams and with clients.
