The Food Manufacturing Maintenance Technician role is responsible for day to-day equipment preventative maintenance and troubleshooting/repairs at Wesco's Central Campus Food Manufacturing Facility (802).

Direct Report: Maintenance Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

Position Summary
  • Execute preventative maintenance program per schedule on all equipment and machinery.
  • Conduct diagnostic checks, troubleshooting, and repair for all equipment, Facility wide (mechanical, electrical and programmable logic controllers).
  • Report all health and safety risks to Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Set up, align, take apart and repair/rebuild industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, Ovens, Coolers, according to equipment manufactures specifications.
  • Inspect, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery as required.
  • Perform general building maintenance.
  • Work in a safe manner in accordance with all company policies and procedures as well as occupational health and safety laws.
  • Train other Mobile Maintenance Technicians on all plant equipment and processes.
Work Environment
  • Full-time, hourly position.
  • Primarily work location at 802 Central Campus Manufacturing Facility
  • Weekly set scheduled hours
  • 7:00 AM - 5:00 PMThursday - Sunday to cover production (Weekly Scheduled Off: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday)
Qualifications

Education

Post-Secondary Education in related field with current licenses/certifications (or willing to get) for General Manufacturing Equipment, Food Service Equipment.

Skills & Competencies
  • 2-5 years' experience in industrial maintenance or strong mechanical aptitude, preferably within the food industry.
  • Demonstrated Mechanical Skills.
  • Experience reading, comprehending and utilizing blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings.
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and perform maintenance on various equipment.
  • Ability to work at heights utilizing lifts/ladders. Completing equipment repairs on roofs.
  • Knowledge and understanding in the use of conveyors, PLCs, Fryers, Proofers, Mixers, Ovens, packaging machinery, hand and power tools.
  • Positive attitude and ability to solve problems and multi-task, works well with other professions and team members.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Knowledge of CMMS applications and processes.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs repetitively and stand on feet for majority of the working day
  • Flexibility and willingness to work overtime as required and willingness to work varied shifts which may include evenings as business needs.
  • Willingness to continue necessary training with equipment builders and providers to learn all aspects of required maintenance to sustain assets.
