10+ years progressive accounting experience
CPA
SAP software
Recent experience in Consumer Product Industry (retail, wholesale or apparel)
Corporate Tax filing experience
Sales and Use tax filing experience (not third party filing - however this might be the 1 must they might be lenient on)
Manage at least 2 people
Onsite 4 days
Travel to PA 2x a month for the next 12 months, after that still travel monthly potentially quarterly
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Director, Accounting to lead all accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. This role ensures accuracy in financial information, compliance with U.S. GAAP, and supports strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will drive process improvements, oversee tax and treasury functions, and play a key role in system implementations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, tax compliance, and treasury functions (cash flow, borrowing base, wires, and payments).
Prepare accurate semiannual financial statements and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, reserves (AR and inventory), and accruals to ensure accuracy and efficiency in the close process.
Partner with FP&A to analyze variances, compare actuals to forecasts, and communicate financial results to leadership.
Manage tax filings and compliance (sales/use, property, business licenses, registrations, and federal/state requirements).
Collaborate with IT to optimize ERP and reporting systems; assist in SAP implementation.
Develop, document, and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and business processes.
Provide financial insights, recommendations, and guidance to senior management.
Partner cross-functionally and with external stakeholders to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all accounting and financial processes.
