Job Description
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and underwrite insurance applications for commercial clients
  • Analyze risk, market conditions, and policy terms to determine appropriate coverage and pricing.
  • Collaborate with underwriting assistants and other team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of underwriting processes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients to understand their unique needs and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market developments to guide underwriting decisions and strategies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field.
  • Proven experience as an underwriter or underwriting assistant, with a focus on commercial insurance in the specified range.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risk and make informed underwriting decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and cultivate relationships with clients and brokers.
  • Knowledge of insurance regulations, policies, and procedures.
Day-to-day
  • Review and analyze insurance applications and associated documentation.
  • Communicate with brokers and clients to gather necessary information or clarify details.
  • Collaborate with underwriting assistants to ensure accurate data entry and documentation.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to determine appropriate pricing and coverage.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay abreast of industry developments and best practices.
