PBS Aerospace is seeking a Senior Assembly Technician with proven experience in precision mechanical assembly within aerospace or Tier I automotive manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have strong technical acumen, hands-on expertise assembling and testing high-performance engines or power systems, and the ability to lead by example in quality, process discipline, and continuous improvement.

This role is instrumental in establishing best practices for engine assembly, testing, and production flow in our new facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced assembly, alignment, and testing of small turbojet engines and related subsystems.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and blueprints to ensure precise component fit and function.
  • Apply torque specifications, safety wiring, and precision measurement techniques per aerospace standards.
  • Conduct performance checks and participate in engine test runs and validation activities.
  • Collaborating closely with engineers and manufacturing leads to refine assembly processes and tooling.
  • Support training and mentoring of junior assembly technicians.
  • Document build data, test results, and quality records with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Maintain work area organization and compliance with all safety and ITAR requirements.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands-on assembly experience in aerospace propulsion systems, turbine engines, or Tier I automotive precision manufacturing.
  • Associate degree in Aerospace Technology, Aviation Maintenance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Deep knowledge of precision mechanical assembly, measurement, and quality assurance practices.
  • Proven ability to interpret complex technical documentation and engineering drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or root cause analysis a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work standing for extended periods.
  • Due to the nature of PBS Aerospace's business as a defense contractor, this position is limited to U.S. citizens, as defined under applicable federal regulations.
  • Up to 10% travel to Europe during the first year for training and collaboration.
