Position Summary:

Primary responsibilities, under the direction of the property manager for the assigned property(ies) are: the overall maintenance of the apartment complex and all areas related to the daytoday maintenance operations of the community.

Essential Functions:
  • Electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry and painting
  • Repairing and treating structures such as showers, sinks, appliances, doors/cabinets, walls and building exteriors
  • Drywall repair, including filling in small holes caused by nails and minor dings
  • Make ready units for new moveins
  • Have a working knowledge of HVAC systems and able to maintain, repair and replace HVAC systems
  • Responsible for 24 hour emergency maintenance, when scheduled on call
  • Schedule and complete preventative maintenance program on a regular basis
  • Complete grounds work such as: grounds pick up, sweeping and light landscaping
  • Pool maintenance experience required, if on premises
  • Coordinate special projects as directed
Qualifications:

The Maintenance Technician must maintain a professional and courteous manner with residents, visitors, contractors and fellow employees. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician must:
  • have the necessary tools to effectively complete tasks outlined above
  • have the ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • maintain effective and cooperative working relationships
  • must be willing to travel to other property(ies) as required
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • HVAC Certification, where applicable
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background, drug test

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
