Position Summary
Seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician (Millwright) to maintain, repair, and optimize heavy industrial equipment in a copper tube & coil manufacturing plant. The role involves hands-on work in casting, melting, pressing, winding & coiling, and preventative maintenance to ensure high uptime and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on casting and melting equipment, presses, coilers, winders, and tube-forming machines.
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures: shafts, gears, couplings, rollers, bearings, and drive systems.
- Disassemble, rebuild, align, install, and maintain mechanical components and assemblies.
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment and modifications.
- Maintain and repair plant equipment to ensure compliance with safety, OSHA.
- Work with maintenance planner to prioritize tasks, manage parts inventory, and reduce downtime.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives: suggest mechanical improvements, participate in root cause analyses of mechanical failures.
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training in industrial maintenance, machining or millwright skills preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of industrial maintenance / millwright experience (preferably in metal, tube, coil, or similar environment).
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, blueprints, and align equipment to spec.
- Experience with presses, coilers, winders, melting / casting machinery.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, welding/fabrication skills are a plus.
- Must be able to lift heavy equipment (up to 50-100 lbs), work in hot/cold environments, climb, bend, etc.
