We are seeking a Global Pay Specialist to join a vibrant team responsible for executing our contractor pay processes from our corporate headquarters in Overland Park, Kansas. The Global Pay Specialist is a dynamic position that primarily focuses on assisting with weekly contractor pay cycles to the more than 10,000 individuals and agencies who make up Propio's extensive translation and interpretation network. They will also resolve internal and external payment inquiries and support the implementation of new payment process initiatives. The ideal candidate will blend creativity with reliability, flexing their knowledge of spreadsheets and accounting acumen to elevate the capabilities of the Global Pay team. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented person to shape the growth of a rapidly expanding department.
Essential Job Functions
- Assist with the weekly execution of global contractor pay cycles to ensure timely and accurate payments. Includes bi-weekly interpreter pay, bi-weekly document translation pay, and monthly call center pay.
- Respond to inbound payment queries in Propio's FreshService ticketing system, resolving issues in a timely fashion to ensure achievement of department SLAs.
- Learn and leverage multiple global payment platforms and systems, supporting scalability and efficiency across entities.
- Support monthly and year-end close processes as it pertains to contractor payments, including accruals, internal reporting, and providing audit selection support.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within global pay processes to streamline operations and reduce costs.
- Build and sustain strong partnerships with internal collaborators.
- Assist the Global Contractor Pay Manager, the VP of Financial Operations, and other finance leaders on ad hoc reporting or projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or an equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in contractor pay, payroll, or accounting required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ideal candidate will demonstrate command of common lookup, logic and finance functions. The ability to accurately manipulate large lists of names and numbers in Excel is a must.
- Experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated ability to produce high quality work within tight deadlines.
- Comfortable working in numerous software systems, including proprietary systems, with an ability to understand the flow of data. Familiarity with Salesforce and NetSuite is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and advanced spreadsheet skills with attention to detail.
- A continuous improvement mindset with a strong sense of accountability, teamwork, and collaboration.
- Moderate noise (business office with computers, phone, printers, light traffic).
- Ability to sit at a computer for an extended period of time.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and telephone.
