Join us and become part of an inclusive team. Client Overview: Our client is a global organization headquartered in Midtown Manhattan that is seeking a Payroll Tax Analyst for a contract assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to contribute to a high-performing Finance team in a fast-paced corporate environment. Salary/Hourly Rate: $25/hr - $30/hr Position Overview: The Payroll Tax Analyst will be responsible for maintaining, processing, and reconciling payroll tax activities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience with ADP SmartCompliance, strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of multi-state payroll operations. Responsibilities of the Payroll Tax Analyst:
  • Prepare, review, and reconcile payroll tax filings for multiple jurisdictions.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and deadlines.
  • Research and resolve tax notices, discrepancies, and variances.
  • Partner with ADP SmartCompliance to manage and validate payroll tax payments and filings.
  • Reconcile payroll tax liabilities to general ledger accounts.
  • Support audits, quarterly reconciliations, and year-end processing (W-2s, 941s, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the Payroll and Accounting teams to ensure accuracy in payroll reporting.
Required Experience/Skills for the Payroll Tax Analyst:
  • 3 - 5 years of payroll tax experience in a corporate or multi-state environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of ADP SmartCompliance required.
  • In-depth understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with large ERP or payroll systems.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Payroll Tax Analyst:
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now/Smart Compliance or similar large-scale payroll systems.
  • Background in accounting or finance with exposure to general ledger reconciliations.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
