Kavaliro is seeking a System Administrator to support a client in Hawaii.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to support the United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM). The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, supporting, and optimizing our IT infrastructure to ensure reliable and secure operations. This role requires a strong background in systems administration, with a focus on security best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain servers, networks, and associated hardware and software, with a focus on LAN/WAN support.
  • Ensure system security and integrity by implementing and monitoring security protocols, including CAC authentication.
  • Perform regular system updates, backups, and recovery procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues in a timely manner.
  • Monitor system performance and optimize resource utilization.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of IT projects and solutions.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to support operational needs.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide user support and training as needed.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in technology.
  • Travel as required to support operations at various sites within the Indo-Pacific region.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in systems administration.
  • Security+ certification is required.
  • TS/SCI clearance is required.
  • Experience with Nutanix is a strong benefit.
  • Proficient in Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.), with experience in LAN/WAN support.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies and cloud services.
  • Experience with CAC authentication and related security protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a military or defense environment.
  • Additional certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, VMware, CCNA) are a plus.
  • Knowledge of automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
Working Conditions:
  • Extensive travel will be required to support operations at various sites within the Indo-Pacific region.
  • May require occasional after-hours or weekend work
Location:
  • Honolulu, HI
  • This position is onsite and there is no remote availability.
Clearance Requirements:
  • Candidates must have an active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Applicant MUST hold a permanent U.S. citizenship for this position in accordance with government contract requirements.
