Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care while assisting the Registered Nurse in planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of residents based on their individual needs.
  • Observe, record, and report resident conditions to support assessments and care planning.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and diagnostic procedures with precision.
  • Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for both residents and staff.
  • Comply with all regulatory and facility policies, including medication handling and infection control protocols.
  • Educate residents and staff on basic health information to promote wellness.
  • Serve as Charge Nurse when assigned, managing staff assignments and completing necessary reports.
  • Document resident conditions and care, ensuring accurate records.
  • Assist in maintaining adequate supplies and equipment in the unit.
  • Support physicians in assessment and treatment activities, collaborating effectively with all team members.
  • Address resident and family concerns with promptness and courtesy.
  • Participate in training new nursing staff and assist in evaluating Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
  • Engage in continuous self-improvement through attending in-service classes and staying updated on nursing trends.
  • Report vital resident and staff performance information to the supervising nurse directly.

Qualifications:

  • Current New York State Practical Nurse license and registration.
  • Knowledgeable in pharmacology and medication administration, particularly in elderly care.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey resident needs effectively.
  • Experience in long-term care facilities is preferred.

Compensation: Up to $43.00 an hour
