Job Title: Production Planner
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Production Planner to create and update production schedules based on customer orders and available capacity. The role involves coordinating with production teams to manage priorities and timelines, as well as receiving incoming materials, verifying their accuracy, and helping to maintain inventory counts. The successful candidate will track the progress of incoming materials and communicate updates between departments, identifying opportunities to improve scheduling, inventory accuracy, and workflow efficiency.
Responsibilities

Create and update production schedules based on customer orders and available capacity.

Coordinate with production teams to manage priorities and timelines.

Receive incoming materials, verify their accuracy, and maintain inventory counts.

Track progress of incoming materials and communicate updates between departments.

Identify opportunities to improve scheduling, inventory accuracy, and workflow efficiency.
Essential Skills
-
2-5 years of experience in production planning and scheduling.
-
Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field.

Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
-
Strong organization and communication skills.
-
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
-
Experience with lean manufacturing or process improvement methods (preferred).
-
Familiarity with warranty or after-sales coordination (preferred).
Work Environment
The position is based in a small team environment within an engineering and lab setting, focused on building complex communication systems. The team consists of approximately 5 people within the operations group, contributing to a total of 47 employees. Work is conducted onsite full-time with flexible hours to accommodate personal schedules. Employees enjoy benefits such as a paid shutdown for the last week of the year, as part of the company's holiday package.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.66 - $38.47/hr.
