Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) plays a vital role in providing compassionate, resident-centered care in a long-term care setting. As a key member of the nursing team, you will assist residents with their daily living activities, ensuring their physical and psychological needs are met. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering age-appropriate nursing care and personal assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
  • Assisting with activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and mobility.
  • Recording vital signs and documenting resident interactions accurately.
  • Supporting residents during meals to foster a positive dining experience.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe living environment for residents.
  • Participating in wellness and recreational programs to encourage engagement.

The NA will also support nursing staff during procedures and communicate any changes in residents' conditions to the charge nurse. This role is essential in promoting a high standard of care and a supportive environment for residents.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum age of 16; prior experience in long-term care is a plus.
  • CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing required within four months of hire, with training provided by the facility.
  • Annual completion of 12 hours of continuing education is required.

Applicants should possess a valid driver’s license if the role requires driving capabilities.
