Job Overview

Leidos is on the lookout for a dynamic Operations Specialist for Field Services who will play a crucial role in maintaining the availability, reliability, and operational excellence of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) vital for our critical infrastructure and mission-critical projects. In this hands-on position, you'll ensure the continuous operation of complex systems and lead interdisciplinary collaborations.

We seek an expert with strong ICS background proficient in troubleshooting intricate issues and engaging with various technical teams. You will be pivotal in on-site operations, infrastructure improvements, and developing effective policies and training programs aimed at enhancing system reliability across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the deployment, operation, and monitoring of ICS to support critical infrastructure with zero downtime.
  • Conduct advanced diagnostics, root cause analyses, and rapid troubleshooting to swiftly resolve system issues.
  • Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and HVAC teams to ensure seamless system integration and performance.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation to validate system configurations and ensure comprehensive implementation.
  • Design and deliver impactful technical training programs for field staff focused on reliability, incident management, and best practices.
  • Forge strong partnerships with vendors, contractors, and service providers to facilitate technical support and manage system upgrades.
  • Drive the adoption of procedural and policy changes across sites to enhance operational consistency and compliance.
  • Lead and participate in projects that involve systems integration, field operations, and system administration with significant impacts.
  • Stay informed about industry standards, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies related to ICS and critical infrastructure protection.

Basic Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree with 8-12 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 6-10 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting Industrial Control Systems (ICS) in high-availability or mission-critical settings.
  • Robust background in mechanical, electrical, or HVAC systems, with hands-on expertise in integrating these with ICS platforms.
  • Proven ability to develop and conduct technical training focusing on system uptime and incident response.
  • Excellent communication and technical documentation capabilities.
  • Strong competency in vendor management, providing support, and enhancing systems.
  • Willingness to travel to various field locations as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in system administration, systems integration, or network installation in critical infrastructure environments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows environments and relevant industrial automation software.
  • Working knowledge of configuration management and system lifecycle support.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, CCNA, or similar.
  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks or similar service management methodologies.
  • Experience implementing policies and collaborating across teams in extensive operations.
  • Experience with Tridium Niagara Framework (N4), BACnet, and Modbus protocols.
  • Experience with DG Logik.
