Role Expectations
  • Assess patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics through standardized evaluations and observational methods.
  • Craft individualized treatment plans targeting immediate goals as well as long-term communication and swallowing challenges.
  • Deliver focused speech therapy interventions addressing areas such as language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing difficulties.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, and families to formulate comprehensive care approaches.
  • Engage patients and families in educational discussions to enhance progress beyond clinical environments.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and therapeutic activities, ensuring seamless care continuity.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with all regulations and best practices.
  • Pursue professional advancement through ongoing education and collaborative opportunities.
Required Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
