CNC Machinist - 1st Shift

Location: East Syracuse, NY

Pay Range: $27-33/hour

Our client is a long-established precision manufacturing company based in East Syracuse, NY, specializing in prototyped and low-volume production machined castings. Position Summary:

The CNC Machinist will produce precision machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating CNC vertical and horizontal milling machines. This position is responsible for maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency standards while ensuring accurate record keeping and production output.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret blueprints, work orders, and GD&T specifications to plan and execute machining operations.

  • Program CNC mills and perform setup, including installing and adjusting chucks, tools, and attachments.

  • Operate machines and verify settings and first-run parts meet required tolerances.

  • Perform in-process inspections, troubleshoot machining issues, and make adjustments as needed.

  • Conduct routine equipment maintenance and follow all safety policies and procedures.

  • Accurately complete production and quality documentation.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Completion of a Journeyman CNC Machinist apprenticeship or equivalent experience (4+ years preferred).

  • Proficient in setup, operation, and basic programming of CNC vertical and horizontal mills.

  • Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to read blueprints and use precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.).

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods, reach, bend, and lift up to 35 lbs as needed.

Pay Details: $27.00 to $33.00 per hour
