Position Title: Radiation Therapist-PRN
Department: Radiation Oncology
Location: Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System
Position Summary:
Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System (SRHS) is seeking a compassionate and skilled PRN-Radiation Therapist to join our dedicated Radiation Oncology team. In this flexible, as-needed role, you will work alongside board-certified Radiation Oncologists, registered nurses, and support staff to deliver safe, accurate radiation treatments to our patients. Your expertise and attention to detail will help ensure each patient receives high-quality care in a supportive and healing environment.

Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by Radiation Oncologists in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring proper positioning, comfort, and safety throughout the treatment session.
- Operate linear accelerators and associated imaging equipment with accuracy and technical skill.
- Perform and document daily quality assurance checks; report equipment concerns or variances promptly.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care.
- Educate patients and families about treatment procedures, expectations, and post-treatment care.
- Assist with patient transport, setup, and general departmental support tasks as needed.
- Comply with all SRHS, state, and federal regulations, including HIPAA and radiation safety guidelines.
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Program
- Current ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy
- Valid license through the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCQRSA)
Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a progressive radiation oncology department
- Active member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT)
- Member of the South Carolina Society of Radiologic Technologists (SCSRT)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment with professionalism and compassion
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist with patient movement as needed
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong manual dexterity and technical aptitude for operating high-precision equipment
- Ability to stay calm and focused during high-stress or emergency situations
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
