About the Role:

As a Delivery Driver for ShopRite of Wallkill, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our customers receive their groceries and other products in a timely and efficient manner. Your primary responsibility will be to transport goods from our store to customers' homes, maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer service throughout the delivery process. You will be the face of our brand, representing ShopRite with professionalism and courtesy during each interaction. This position requires you to manage your delivery schedule effectively, ensuring that all deliveries are completed on time while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to customer satisfaction and loyalty, reinforcing our commitment to providing exceptional service in the community.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items, up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a delivery or customer service role.
  • Familiarity with the local area and traffic patterns.
  • Basic knowledge of grocery products and services.
Responsibilities:
  • Load and unload delivery vehicles with groceries and other products.
  • Plan and follow the most efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrivals.
  • Communicate with customers regarding delivery times and any potential delays.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including customer signatures and payment transactions.
  • Ensure the delivery vehicle is kept clean and well-maintained, reporting any issues to management.

Skills:

The required skills for this position include strong time management and organizational abilities, which are essential for planning efficient delivery routes and managing schedules. Excellent communication skills are necessary to interact with customers and provide updates on their deliveries, ensuring a positive experience. Physical stamina is important, as the role involves lifting and carrying heavy items, as well as being on the road for extended periods. Preferred skills, such as familiarity with the local area, will enhance your ability to navigate effectively and reduce delivery times. Additionally, having a background in customer service will help you address any customer inquiries or concerns with confidence and professionalism.
