Traveling Project Engineer

We are currently looking for a Traveling Project Engineer to join a well-established heavy and highway contractor. This role supports the construction project management team by handling project administration, data management, and communication between stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in project startup, including permitting, file setup, budget preparation, compliance, and job site coordination
- Support the bid process by preparing pre-qualification applications and tracking bids
- Manage subcontractor documentation, including job costing, compliance, change orders, and payment applications
- Assist in procurement, data entry, and job costing for purchases
- Support billing by coding pay estimates and tracking project expenses
- Maintain electronic files, project plans, submittals, and ongoing correspondence
- Assist with change orders, inspections, and overall project administration
- Support project closeout activities and final documentation
- 1-3 years of experience in administration, accounting, or engineering, preferably on large-scale construction projects
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
- Experience with billing, document control, and purchasing processes
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Proficiency in office software and construction management tools
