Skillforce is currently hiring Journeyman Rodbusters for work in West Memphis, AR This position is 40-50 hours a week, and pay is up to $30/hr DOE.

Responsibilities:

• Rebar Fabrication and Placement:
  
  • Measure, cut, bend, and shape steel rebar and mesh using tools such as shears, bending machines, and torches.
  • Assemble and position reinforcing steel bars, wire mesh, and other materials for reinforced concrete structures.
  • Tie and secure rebar using tools like pliers, tie wire, or rebar tying machines.
• Blueprint and Specification Adherence:
  
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine material requirements and placement instructions.
  • Ensure proper alignment, spacing, and support of rebar as per project guidelines.
• Safety Compliance:
  
  • Follow all safety protocols and OSHA regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and participate in safety meetings.
  • Recognize and address potential safety hazards on the job site.
• Collaboration and Coordination:
  
  • Work closely with construction crews, project managers, and other trades to ensure seamless integration of rebar in construction projects.
  • Coordinate with crane operators and other equipment operators for material movement and placement.
• Quality Control:
  
  • Inspect rebar placements for accuracy and compliance with project standards.
  • Make adjustments and corrections as needed to meet structural integrity requirements.

• Proven experience as a Rodbuster or in a similar role within commercial construction.
• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and rebar placement plans.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools for cutting, bending, and securing rebar.
• Strong understanding of concrete reinforcement techniques and construction safety standards.
• Physical stamina to lift heavy materials, stand, kneel, or bend for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
• Must be a US Citizen, no exceptions.
