SALES & CATEGORY ANALYST

As our Sales Analyst, you will report to the Manager of Sales and Category Analytics. Current categories include Beauty Tools and Pet for both U.S. and Canada. The ideal candidate for this position is a team player that is driven, possesses initiative, is highly organized, has a passion for analytics and sales, and enjoys being part of a team. The sales team will look to you to provide much-needed sales data for market and trend analysis, as well as customer administrative support.
Duties and Responsibilities
Sales Analysis
- Analyze syndicated data to define our market, categories, channels & competitions and provide monthly performance updates with actionable insights
- Gather and analyze data from multiple data sources to report on category performance with emphasis on Tweezerman business trends
- Utilize market-based tools to gather data supporting recommendations
- Generate monthly sales reports utilizing our internal BI tools and reports
- Retrieve sales data from customer portals and EDI application, export to Excel, format and distribute to sales managers
- Manage new product forecasting process by taking proactive measures that ensure that all new product forecasts are completed on a timely basis. Work closely with internal departments: Supply chain, sales, marketing, to ensure the forecasts are accurately completed
- Work with Manager of Sales and Analytics to maintain/create Power BI dashboards for sales to independently analyze sales/shipment data
- Understanding successes/challenges at POS and using the data to understand and grow business by doing store visits and developing understanding of accounts
- Complete periodic analysis of Tweezerman styles for Beauty tools and Pet. This includes but is not limited to:
- Sell in/sell through analysis by retailer, maintaining POS sales data by customer for key accounts
- Evaluate sell-in and sell-thru trends to be included in presentations, forecasting and reporting
- Current vs. previous year (units & dollars) to determine effect of new style launches, style additions, product category analysis (tweezers, face, manicure, pedicure)
- Measure the styles with price increase vs. previous year to determine any effect of price increases
- Initiate and update product, promotions, and new item master data information on customer portals
- Support Sales Managers with meeting preparation and Power Point presentations
- Supply samples when requested
- Answer customer and sales inquiries in timely and professional manner
- Understand product assortment, technical qualities of product and pricing, keeping customers up to date on all new and promotional products
- Develop keen understanding of customer sales trends, competitors, assortments - to be able to become a key advisor in business decision-making for Sales and Marketing teams
- Assist in building data for account presentations and give recommendations based on business trends, taking an active role in client meetings and daily management
- Attend Trade Shows as necessary; assist in show setup, direct selling to consumers and answer questions related to product, and breakdown post-show
- Ability to build and maintain a positive, professional relationships with internal and external customers and understand customers' requirements
- Performs a variety of other duties similar or related to those above at the direction of manager
- Bachelor's degree required
- 1-4 years of experience as a sales analyst with category management preferred
- Strong analytics and visualization techniques to uncover and tell stories within data
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- High energy, driven, positive attitude
- Advanced Excel and Power Point skills
- Attention to detail and highly organized
- Ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with team
- Ability to multi-task across multiple projects and daily tasks
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements
This position must be able to move about the building along with sit for prolonged periods of time with finger and wrist dexterity with repetitive motion. This position requires domestic travel. Individual must be able to obtain necessary documents for travel.

The expected base salary for this position is estimated. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, budget, and location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in our competitive bonus program with the possibility of overachievement based on performance and company results, as well as participation in the company's profit-sharing program.
