Position Overview

The Bellefonte Area School District is seeking a dependable Utility Clerk to support daily school operations through a combination of cafeteria aide duties, office coverage, and student assistance. This versatile role is essential to maintaining smooth and efficient functioning across multiple areas of the school environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills, a willingness to work with students, and the ability to adapt to a variety of tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities

The Utility Clerk will:
  • Ensure a calm, pleasant atmosphere in all school settings.
  • Provide assistance to the Building Principal for the orderly operation of school and classroom functions.
  • Provide an orderly environment for the behavior management of students by organizing students into orderly lines, aiding in cafeteria functions, enforcing school rules, participating in bus duty, and/or aiding in classrooms and library support areas as needed.
  • Assist in technical support services such as laminating, book binding, maintaining and caring for equipment, and/or using computer equipment as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining a healthy, clean environment for students and staff.
  • Provide tutoring and/or learning support functions with students as needed under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
  • Assist students with individual needs such as getting to and from school transportation, recess, classes, study hall, cafeteria, health room, etc.
  • Assist the staff with attendance, preparing lesson materials, and general clerical duties.
  • Assist in various office and cafeteria duties including coverage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal.
Education Requirements

Minimum: High School Diploma
Preferred: Associate's Degree or 48 post-secondary credits
Experience Requirements

Minimum:
  • Six months experience with school-age children
Preferred:
  • Previous role working with students in public education

Ability to stand eighty percent (80%) of the workday.
