Travel Respiratory Therapist - Days Florence, SC

Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12s - Days
Setting: Acute Care Hospital
Location: Florence, South Carolina
Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS
Experience: 1-2 years recent hospital RT experience preferred

Position Overview:

Join a dynamic respiratory team in Florence, SC as a Travel Respiratory Therapist. In this vital role, you'll provide high-quality respiratory care, perform advanced procedures, and support patients across the continuum of care, including during transport. You'll work in a fast-paced hospital environment, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure the best patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients and recommend appropriate respiratory treatment plans

  • Administer physician-ordered therapies (invasive/non-invasive ventilation, oxygen, and aerosol therapies)

  • Educate patients and families on respiratory care and home discharge equipment

  • Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry, capnography, and pulmonary function testing

  • Assist with bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, trach care (including emergent/non-emergent trach tube insertions)

  • Conduct 12-lead EKGs, basic arrhythmia recognition, and arterial blood gas sampling/interpretation

  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot ventilators and other respiratory equipment

  • Participate in emergency response including CPR, intubation, and ventilatory support setup

  • Document all care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the EMR

  • Report and communicate patient updates effectively during handoffs

  • Maintain equipment, supplies, and accurate charge entry for all services provided

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program

  • Active SC Respiratory Therapist license (or compact eligibility)

  • Current BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association)

  • Strong clinical knowledge in acute/critical respiratory therapy

  • Comfortable with ventilator management, emergent airway support, and multi-disciplinary team collaboration
