Team Lead Job Description

(Supporting Fitness & Well Being at Everett Activity Center)

Position Description: A Work-Fit Fitness & Well Being Team Lead is responsible for exceeding customer expectations by planning, organizing, communicating, developing, delivering, and measuring Work-Fit services.

Reports to: Team Leads communicate with the Regional Lead of Fitness and Well Being. The direct report will be detailed in the Work-Fit job offer.

Consulting Partners: Team Leads consult with the Work-Fit Operations Team; other Team Leads; Work-Fit team members (Industrial Athlete, Fitness, and Well Being); and key client contacts including leadership in Health & Safety, Ergonomics, Medical, and Client Management.

Hourly Pay Range: $37.50 - $40.00

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Policy and Procedures
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and professional work environment by communicating and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Ensure quality service by understanding, teaching, and enforcing Work-Fit and client policies.
  • Maintain and apply the agreed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Manual defining service delivery at the client site.
2. Business Planning
  • Use aggregated data to establish strategic goals aligning Work-Fit services and resources with customer needs.
  • Collaborate with leadership to set goals for fitness and well-being programs.
  • Identify and evaluate trends, presenting actionable recommendations to create a unified vision and improve programs.
  • Manage annual budget, review and forecast monthly, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions.
3. Program Measurement
  • Document all service interactions in Work-Fit and client record systems per policy.
  • Conduct quality reviews of record management practices and implement improvements.
  • Develop and review the Work-Fit scorecard within agreed timelines with Regional and Client Leadership.
  • Review monthly and quarterly data, share insights with employees, and prepare presentations for Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) to align stakeholders on progress and next steps.
4. Team Member Development
  • Recruit, onboard, train and lead Fitness & Well Being Specialists.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and professional development planning.
  • Review monthly service performance using data-driven results to identify wins and opportunities.
  • Support team members in creating growth plans aligned with client needs and personal goals.
  • Meet one-on-one with team members weekly, and report back to Regional Lead wins, opportunities, and any help needed.
  • Host a weekly team meeting sharing strategies and expectations and providing a team building opportunity.
  • Foster collaboration and best practice sharing across the immediate team and larger Fitness & Well Being team enterprise wide.
  • Implement strategies to retain employees by fostering engagement, recognizing achievements, supporting career growth, and creating a positive work environment.
5. Delivery of Work-Fit Services
  • Deliver agreed Scope of Services per SOP
  • Ensure high-quality fitness center operations, group exercise programs, and well-being campaigns and services.
  • Oversee scheduling, resource allocation, and adherence to scope of services.
  • Collaborate and integrate with Industrial Athlete services and leadership.
6. Customer Relations
  • Serve as primary liaison with on-site client leadership for Fitness & Well Being initiatives at the Everett Activity Center in collaboration with Regional Lead.
  • Conduct regular customer interviews (at least every 90 days) to assess impact of services alongside Regional Lead.
  • Participate in client meetings and committees, such as Quarterly Business Review and Best Practice Share.
7. Professional Development
  • Stay current with policies, credentialing, and laws governing professional practice.
  • Advance knowledge through workshops, certifications, courses, publications, networking, and benchmarking best practices.
  • Provide monthly professional development for staff to practice quality, safety and security procedures (i.e. safety drills, emergency drills, etc.).
8. Program Marketing
  • Oversee and support the development of marketing strategies for fitness and well-being programs in collaboration with Regional Lead and Client Management.
  • Oversee and promote Well Being team planning and site engagement through events, campaigns, and educational materials.
  • Oversee and support the development of a culture of health and responsibility through educational content distribution.
9. Facility/Office Management
  • Ensure security of sensitive records at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Ensures fitness facilities are safe, clean and well-maintained.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance, inventory, and emergency preparedness.
  • Coordinate facility maintenance and ensure equipment calibrations per specifications.
10. Additional Oversight Responsibilities
  • Monitor usage of fitness facilities and program participation.
  • Support site and enterprise fitness & well-being initiatives (e.g., screenings, 5K, benefits fairs).
  • Report program metrics and outcomes to leadership and distribute to team.
  • Attend weekly leadership meetings.

11. Other Duties and Projects as Assigned

Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in health, wellness, exercise science, or related field (Master's preferred).
  2. Professional certification in a health-related discipline.
  3. CPR/AED certification.
  4. Minimum 3 years of experience in fitness/wellness program delivery and team leadership.
  5. Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic recordkeeping systems.
  7. Ability to work independently and adapt to various work environments.
  8. Comfortable delivering services in manufacturing, warehousing, office, and outdoor settings.
