Job Title: Registered Nurse

Certifications: Required: BLS, ACLS; Preferred: NIHSS

Must-Have:
General ICU experience including:
- Vent/tracheostomy management
- Invasive line management (A-line, CVP, Swann)
- Drains/tube management
- Foley management
- Chest tubes
- Post-surgical recovery
- Post catheterization experience
- Fresh heart experience (preferred)
- CVVH
- Balloon Pumps
- CRRT

Description:
Level III Trauma Center with 136 beds.
General patient types include COVID, sepsis, alcohol abuse, IV drug abuse, overdose, suicidal ideation, delirium, gastrointestinal bleeding, and stroke with TPA.
Surgical patient types include general, open abdomen, orthopedic (total joints), ENT, and OBGYN.
Cardiac/vascular patients include femoral-popliteal bypass, CABG, valve replacements, post-catheterization (radial approach), abdominal aortic aneurysm, and amputations.
No complex neurological cases post TNK/TPA.
Adequate PPE is provided, including N95 and PAPRs.
Patient ratios are RN: 1:2 (acuity based); CNA ratios are 1:8 during the day and 1:17 during the night.
Support on the unit includes an occasional charge nurse with patient assignments, unit secretary during daytime hours, intensivist available 24/7, ICU-specific pharmacist during the day shift, respiratory therapy 24/7, and a phlebotomy team for peripheral draws.
Charting system utilized is EPIC (preferred).
Travelers will float to intermediate units (1:3), emergency department boarding (1:4), and observation units (1:4).
Weekend rotation requires working every other weekend.
No on-call shifts are available.
Scrub color is flexible; however, camo, denim, and hoodies are not permitted.
More than two sick calls may result in a discussion about the contract and potential evaluation of contract termination.
