Position Overview
The Contract Management Specialist plays a crucial role in drafting, negotiating, and managing a variety of contracts and vendor relationships to support business operations. The specialist collaborates closely with Operations, third-party providers, Procurement, Legal, Finance, Risk, and other vital departments to ensure that agreements conform to company standards, mitigate risks, and achieve cost savings. As the primary point of contact for contract-related activities, you will be instrumental in implementing top-notch contracting processes and vendor management practices.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive weekly reports on contract reviews and cost savings metrics.
- Draft, review, benchmark, and negotiate diverse agreements, including NDAs, MSAs, SLAs, SOWs, and leases.
- Ensure finalized contract documents adhere to negotiated terms, internal policies, and legal requirements.
- Identify and assess contractual risks, offering insights and strategies to business partners.
- Maintain a strong understanding of contract law to inform reviews and negotiations.
- Participate in vendor initiatives, including sourcing activities and vendor evaluations.
- Analyze vendor expenditures and suggest opportunities for cost-efficiency.
- Proactively manage contract renewals, amendments, and compliance obligations.
- Utilize internal systems for real-time tracking of contract reviews.
- Serve as a key contact for stakeholders regarding contract issues.
- Collaborate with Legal, Corporate Accounting, Risk, and Internal Audit teams on compliance matters.
- Lead meetings providing updates on contract status and vendor performance.
- Educate business partners on contracting processes and vendor management practices.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and guidance throughout the contracting lifecycle.
- Assist in developing and maintaining best-in-class procurement processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, contract management, and vendor relationship oversight.
- Strong command of contract law and vendor management practices.
- Experience working closely with Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams.
- Analytical skills with a solid understanding of financial basics.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with SharePoint, ServiceNow, or spend management tools.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, and climb stairs or ladders; comfortable sitting for extended periods.
- Competence in using a computer for prolonged durations.
- Repetitive hand and finger movements for operating devices and keyboards.
