Description
- Assess patients from pediatric to geriatric populations, employing both standardized testing and observational analysis.
- Create customized treatment plans targeting immediate and long-range communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy that prioritizes communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team that includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and families to provide holistic care.
- Educate patients and their families to support progress beyond the therapy sessions.
- Support inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions when necessary to ensure a seamless treatment journey.
- Maintain precise and prompt documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, keeping current in methodologies and practices in the field.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized university.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first month of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatments for diverse age ranges, possessing a solid grasp of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Strong interpersonal skills allowing effective communication with patients, families, and the collaborative healthcare team.
- Capacity to modify therapy approaches to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
