Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Project Manager to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Team in Concord, NC. This position reports to the Continuous Improvement Manager, implement/utilize/manage “Lean” and Continuous Improvement principles/projects in manufacturing and administrative environments to improve productivity, quality and to meet or exceed cost objectives.
What Will You Do?
- Analyze data, identify areas of opportunity, and target “Lean” events to support department/plant goals.
- Lead and facilitate Kaizen events.
- Work with manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, productivity, capacity and flexibility across all departments.
- Support/Improve the “Visual Factory” in departments by incorporating management dashboards and visual indicators for “Standard Work”.
- Develop detailed cost estimates for new and modified products.
- Establish & maintain manufacturing information including labor standards, routings, SWIs (as needed) and BOM corrections.
- Manage new product launches at Concord including schedules, expenditures, and reporting.
- Train various Legrand personnel on various lean tools and processes.
- Manage and mentor in Concord’s “Supervisor-in-training” program.
- Assist in developing work content for and mentoring our OLDPs.
- Promote a strong culture of continuous improvement.
- Performs other similar and related duties as required.
Education:
- Bachelor Degree (Technical Field or Systems Engineering Preferred)
Experience:
- Three (3) years or more supporting “Lean”/CI activities in a complex Manufacturing environment
- Facilitation in a “Lean”/CI Environment
Preferred Skills:
- Good verbal and written communication skills applicable to all levels of the organization
- Possess good leadership qualities
- Good experience with Microsoft Office – (Word, Excel, PPT, Access)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent attention to details
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize activities
- Self-starter
- Basic ACAD or equiv. skills needed
- Possess lean knowledge and skills
- Must possess strong analytical skills and the ability to identify trends to establish proactive corrective actions applicable to the situation
Travel – Two to three times a year.
