Position Description

 At a Glance

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Project Manager to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Team in Concord, NC. This position reports to the Continuous Improvement Manager, implement/utilize/manage “Lean” and Continuous Improvement principles/projects in manufacturing and administrative environments to improve productivity, quality and to meet or exceed cost objectives.

What Will You Do?

  • Analyze data, identify areas of opportunity, and target “Lean” events to support department/plant goals.
  • Lead and facilitate Kaizen events.
  • Work with manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, productivity, capacity and flexibility across all departments.
  • Support/Improve the “Visual Factory” in departments by incorporating management dashboards and visual indicators for “Standard Work”.  
  • Develop detailed cost estimates for new and modified products.
  • Establish & maintain manufacturing information including labor standards, routings, SWIs (as needed) and BOM corrections.
  • Manage new product launches at Concord including schedules, expenditures, and reporting.
  • Train various Legrand personnel on various lean tools and processes.
  • Manage and mentor in Concord’s “Supervisor-in-training” program.
  • Assist in developing work content for and mentoring our OLDPs.
  • Promote a strong culture of continuous improvement.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor Degree (Technical Field or Systems Engineering Preferred)     

Experience:

  • Three (3) years or more supporting “Lean”/CI activities in a complex Manufacturing environment
  • Facilitation in a “Lean”/CI Environment 

Preferred Skills:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills applicable to all levels of the organization
  • Possess good leadership qualities
  • Good experience with Microsoft Office – (Word, Excel, PPT, Access)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to details
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize activities
  • Self-starter
  • Basic ACAD or equiv. skills needed
  • Possess lean knowledge and skills
  • Must possess strong analytical skills and the ability to identify trends to establish proactive corrective actions applicable to the situation

Travel – Two to three times a year.
