A Typical Day...

As a Block Advisor Tax Specialist, you will empower individuals to make confident, informed decisions regarding their financial situations. You will establish and nurture relationships with clients, ensuring their unique tax needs are met effectively.

In this role, you will serve clients with diverse tax requirements while benefiting from a supportive team dedicated to providing advanced tax training, ensuring your success.

It would be even better if you also had...

• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification
• Experience completing complex tax returns
• 5+ years in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or tax
• Experience conducting virtual tax interviews that instill confidence
• Tax planning and audit support experience
• Sales and/or marketing experience

What you'll bring to the team...

• Conduct tax interviews with clients and assist do-it-yourself online tax clients through virtual platforms (video conferencing, phone, chat, email)
• Drive business growth, enhance client retention, and introduce additional products and services
• Recognize that teamwork is vital to success - communicate regularly with leaders and peers regarding your remote work impacts
• Enhance your tax expertise continuously

Your Expertise

• Experience in completing individual tax returns
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Access to high-speed, reliable internet
• Proficient in technology, especially MS Teams and Outlook
• Confidence in communicating complex tax scenarios clearly via phone, email, and chat
• Skilled in effective customer service techniques
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or equivalent
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must complete continuing education requirements and meet IRS and state regulations
• Availability for a minimum of 20 hours per week during peak tax season
• Ability to research information using various tax resources to understand client needs (i.e., IRS Publications/Instructions)

Pay Range Information
Pay for this position is contingent upon local minimum wage laws. This information is provided to offer candidates insight into potential earnings. Individual pay decisions will be based on factors such as experience, education, skills, performance, and geographic location. Successful candidates may also participate in incentive compensation plans generating additional earnings.

Pay Range
$11.00 - $80.00/Hr.
