AmeriStaff is currently seeking an experienced Machine Process Technician to fill an opening with a company that makes tubes for packaging products located in Danville, VA. The ideal candidate should have a Mechanical Program Certificate and 2-5+ years of maintenance machine experience in a manufacturing setting.

Benefits of the Machine Technician:

  • 12-hour day shift.
  • 7:00am - 7:00pm.
  • Pay: $17.00 per hour.
Responsibilities of the Machine Technician:
  • To set the machine per job card and production plan.
  • To carry out daily preventive maintenance in the beginning of the shift.
  • To operate machines as per the given design conditions and process parameters.
  • To take care of system compliance in the shifts.
  • To ensure all the inputs include raw material as per the production plan.
  • To carry out process inspection on tubes as per the guidelines.
  • To undertake in conjunction with production supervisor and maintenance personnel for trouble shooting, major breakdown and tool changes.
  • Identify the problem areas and inform the production supervisor with suggestions for improvements.
  • To meet production targets as committed to clients without compromising quality standards.
  • To arrange raw material and other related inputs in shifts per production plan through production supervisor.
  • To maintain production & quality records for the shift.
  • To complete and maintain daily reports, monthly reports, ISO documentation, Scrap Computation, and MIS.
  • Implement systems and measures to bring out higher machine efficiencies and reduction in waste on a continuous basis.
  • Implement a system to enhance quality improvements to meet customer expectations.
  • Achieve production target with high efficiency, without compromising quality standards within the time frame set by clients.
  • Work as a team player in establishing system improvements and sustaining it for long periods.
  • Creating ownership among the production team and encouraging team exercises.
Requirements:
Requirements of the Machine Technician:
  • 2-5+ years of maintenance machine experience in a manufacturing setting or 2 year mechanical degree required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to pass a Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test.
  • Associate degree in Electronics, Industrial Maintenance, or similar field or Certificate from a Mechanical program preferred.
  • Adequate exposure in Industrial Production and knowledge of industrial machines and industrial electrical & electronics.
  • Experience with quality concepts and understanding production plans.
  • Experience with preventative and corrective maintenance.
