Job Description

Job Title: Entry Writer

Pay Range: $25-30/hour (DOE)

Location: Torrance, CA

Work Style: Office

Position Summary:

Seeking a detail-oriented Entry Writer to support our Customs Brokerage (CHB) team. This role ensures timely and accurate customs entry submissions and facilitates smooth cargo clearance and delivery. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, problem-solving ability, and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and input documentation for CBP release
  • Classify goods under HTSUS; identify PGA-regulated items
  • Track entry status and resolve clearance delays
  • Communicate with customers, carriers, and government agencies
  • Handle carnets, TIB entries, cancellations, IT/TE/IE moves
  • Coordinate final freight delivery and issue invoices
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-4 years' experience in customs brokerage preferred (training available)
  • Working knowledge of US Customs regulations and HTSUS
  • Familiarity with FTAs and CHB procedures
  • CargoWise experience is a plus
Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and multitasking ability
  • Proficient in MS Office; good written and verbal communication
  • Customer-focused and solution-driven mindset
Work Environment:
  • Office-based with frequent computer use and professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
