Job Title: Inventory Accountant

Location: Carteret, NJ (On-site)

Pay: 85k to 95k

Job Description

The Inventory Accountant is a newly created role designed to support the Finance Manager. This position focuses on enhancing month-end close execution, supporting multi-entity accounting, and improving reporting accuracy during a period of system transitions and consolidation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close for multiple entities and take ownership of one entity's full close within 6-12 months.

• Update, maintain, and improve monthly schedules, including Fixed Assets and Prepaid Insurance.

• Draft journal entries for review and approval, with ownership growing as competency increases.

• Contribute to 1099 reporting and other monthly/annual projects.

• Understand and manage manufacturing inventory, including standard costing and inventory tie-outs.

• Support consolidation readiness and improved close cycle consistency.

• Identify automation opportunities and workflow improvements.

Essential Skills

• 4-5+ years of experience in accounting, general ledger, reconciliation, and month-end processes.

• Manufacturing accounting experience, inventory and cost accounting

• Strong understanding of AP/AR processes due to cross-functional involvement.

• Experience with multi-entity structures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Comfort with maturing system environments and manual reporting flows.

• NetSuite experience is a plus.

• Ability to learn developing systems and manually driven processes.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to improve schedules and workflows.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $46.00/hr.
